Standing on the foundation that Consent and Kindness are Key, we, the stewards of Seattle Bike Disco, are committed to the work of maintaining as safe a space as possible– for ALL participants.
We ask all participants to keep in mind and act according to our four basic tenets:
- We are all here by choice
- Respect each other’s space
- Assume good intentions
- Leave things better than you found them
As such, we celebrate the differences amongst our participants and have zero tolerance for discrimination and harassment, full stop. Some examples of differences we embrace include: sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, socio-economic status (class), race, ethnicity, ability, age, mental health, education, size, and body shape.
If you are uncomfortable or have a concern, talk to our ride leads (e.g., patch kitten, caboose, lead, protagonist) Regardless of severity, please bring ANY concerns to the attention of our ride leads as soon as you feel comfortable doing so.
We will evaluate situations that have been brought to our attention and sanction someone for: engaging in harassment or discrimination, disregarding the ride rules, acting disrespectfully, threatening the safety of others, or impairing the ability to run a safe bike ride.
We, the stewards of Seattle Bike Disco will enact a series of progressive, increasing sanctions, including but not limited to: a one on one conversation, asking someone to leave the ride, and asking someone not to come to future rides.
If a situation has not been considered resolved by either parties in a harassment complaint, there will be an opportunity to have the situation further evaluated by the ride stewards. If a participant attends despite prior sanctions, we will halt the ride until they leave– thereby demonstrating sufficient respect for the space and community as a whole.

This code of conduct is an on-going collaboration with the community. It will be reviewed regularly and any revisions made public on the website.
If you have any comments or concerns that you would like to share with us, or are keen to engage in some Seattle Bike Disco Stewardship yourself, we encourage the use of our Feedback Form. We can also be reached via Instagram, Facebook, or [email](mailto:seattlebikedisco AT gmail).
